var Beschreibung_en = "It's pretty much fun, bringing together an electric vehicle, a petrol car and a machine to produce large scale artworks and a great photo spread for the Intersection Magazine.
The biggest difference between the electric and the \"normal\" Smart is surely its engine and the sound it makes. So I've decided to create the artwork on the base of the audio data. They were recorded while driving along certain routes in Berlin like the Allee der Kosmonauten or Unter den Linden.
The sound of the combustion motor has been drawn with its engine oil on canvas and the sound of the electric engine has been drawn with the vehicles backlight on long exposure photos. The frequencies and level information define the angles, lengths and colours.
The whole project has been published in the spring issue of the Intersection Magazine Germany and the artworks have been exhibited at the Smart Urban Stage in Berlin.

var Beschreibung_de = "Eine Fotostrecke, Licht- und Ölgemälde wurden mit einem Elektroauto, einem Benziner und einem Roboter produziert.
Der sicherlich größte Unterchied zwischen den beiden Smarts ist ihr Motor und der Klang also haben wir die Audiodaten genutzt um den Roboter zu lenken. Der Klang der Motoren wurde auf ausgewählten Berliner Straßen aufgenommen, wie der Allee der Kosmonauten, der Karl-Marx-Allee oder Unter den Linden.
Im Anschluss wurden die Daten des Verbrennungsmotors mit Motoröl auf Leinwand gemalt und die Daten des Elektrofahrzeugs mit seinem Rücklicht auf Langzeitbelichtungen. Die Frequenzen und Lautstärken definieren die Winkel, Farben und Länge der Linien.
Die Idee wurde gemeinsam mit dem Intersection Magazin und meinem Bruder Sven entwickelt. Vielen Dank an ihn, an Jan, für die Fotos, an Ulrich für das Video und natürlich Smart für die Unterstützung.";
